A common issue I see when training clients or treating them!
Unfortunately a lot of us spend most of our day sitting down either at a desk, driving, or just being inactive in general!
Those two meaty things on the backside of our body we call our arse cheeks play a massive role in our overall physical health!
If they aren’t working to their full potential a number of issues will start to show up in your body!
Low back pain
Knee pain
Decreased hip mobility
Tight psoas
Decreased athletic performance
Groin strains
Hamstrings strains
Shoulder pain
A number of issues that you may not even think have anything to do with inactive glutes!
Working with someone who knows what to do to help is the best way to fix this issue!
Good ol google will give you a number of exercises to get the glutes firing.....the main problem I see with these is that the exercises are only good IF your glutes are already firing!
There are a number of things that need to be assessed before we go throwing squats and hip Bridges your way!
Are you breathing properly? Not sure why this is something so under looked....it’s one of the main things keeping us alive yet we all just walk around and pay no attention to it whatsoever!
Can you engage your abdominals?
Do you have mind/ muscle connection?
These are just some of the things to look at!
Working with a trainer or physical therapist is a great way to make sure you are getting the most out of what your body is capable of......they don’t even have to shove their face this close to your arse to check.
