Sounds like a rant is coming on.
One thing that grinds my gears as a fitness professional is hearing other fitness professionals telling people they need to work off the holidays, or work off the weekend, or start working on your summer body....ahhhhh.. what the fuck is that anyway?
Pretty sure my winter body, autumn body, and spring body is exactly the fucking same as my summer body! Or am I missing some vital information.
I spent a good chunk of my teens and twenties being so consumed with what my body looked like. I followed a diet once and got myself down to 42kgs....I looked like a prisoner of war....and felt like one too! Being so consumed with what you are eating and what it might do to your body....(because apparently one meal that’s not so great for you will make you the size of a house) is not somewhere I ever want to be again....nor would I ever want anyone else to feel that way...but sadly I know people do!
It’s not easy to change your mindset around this....but it’s definitely doable!
One way I worked through this was shifting my focus of what my body looked like, and focusing on what my body and also what my mind could do.
What are you working on?
What do you want to achieve?
I hear a lot of people saying to lose weight and get back in their skinny jeans..../which is 100% ok....I have absolutely no issue with that!
But WHY is that important to you?
And then WHY is that important to you?
I think our goals have deeper meaning than just what we look like on the outside.
Start seeing your body as an amazing vessel that’s capable of way more than you could ever imagine. For me personally I found by doing this I have never felt so strong and fit in my life....I don’t have a 6 pack, nor do I really want one, but I’ve also never felt so comfortable in my own skin!
