4. When you know WHY you are training or making changes in your life for the better, screaming and yelling about it is not necessary.
When you hire me as your personal trainer I want to know your WHY!
Your first response may be to lose weight, or to get back in your skinny jeans. I like to dig a little deeper and find out WHY you REALLY want to start. Once we peel back those layers I often find that the first response is actually the least thing you care about. I am not saying that there is anything wrong with wanting to lose weight or get back in your skinny jeans, but there is a 99.9% chance that you have a bigger WHY.
When we figure that out, it changes the way you think about what you are doing. It changes your motivation. And it means we can use that WHY when you are needing an extra push, instead of me raising my voice screaming at you to “work harder.”
We often start our fitness journey full of motivation and excited to hit our goals. In most cases motivation doesn’t last. We have a little hiccup or we miss a day and think f@!k it. This is where your Bigger WHY comes in. When you know your WHY, you can come back to it when you have a not so great day and want to throw in the towel.
